Cool Hydration Packs for Runners, Cyclists and Adventurers – or just for summer!
Ever since the first time I saw these hydration packs, I’ve always thought they were a genius invention – hands-free, carrying relatively large volumes (2L or more) on your back in a tiny rucksack – seems like the perfect way to carry water (Camelbak is such a appropriate name here!).
Essentially a hydration pack, consists of a slim, stream-lined back pack, designed as a back pack with strong tubing to serve as a drinking straw linked to a ‘bladder’ or reservoir system which is used to store the water. Bladders are usually made from safe, non-toxic poly-ethylene (typically BPA and PVC free) material and are strengthen to protect against resistance and abrasion.
The ease with which the mouth piece can be accessed, while cycling, depends how the tubing is connected and also the design of the back-pack and how the tubing is held in place.
