The thing about slow cookers is that generally most recipes call for the meat to be browned because being put in to the slow cooker. Keeping this in mind, with most standard slow cookers, this means that the browning of the meat needs to be done in a pan before being transferred in to the slow-cooker.
With the Crock-pot Saute though, as the stoneware pot can be put on the hob, in the oven and even the microwave – it means that it can go straight from browning meat to being put directly on to the heating part of the crock-pot. The saute bowl works just as well on the hob or oven letting you safely brown the meat prior to slow cooking for that added flavour and to make it more succulent.
