The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is seen as a replacement for the Galaxy Note series with the inclusion of the S Pen that tucks away in the chassis of the phone, a first in the Galaxy S series. The 6.8-inch display is based on Samsung’s Dynamic AMOLED 2X also with adaptive refresh support of up to 120Hz and Vision Booster peak brightness of 1750nits.
As for the Pro grade cameras, the rear shooter is made up of 4 camera; 12MP Ultra Wide, 108MP Wide, 10MP 3X Optical Zoom Telephoto and 10MP 10x Optical Zoom Telephoto. Yes, you read that right, two telephoto cameras instead of one and together they offer a 100x Space Zoom. Even the front selfie camera is a big 40MP sensor. The cameras are tuned for great night shots and smooth video capture up to 8K with RAW editing support.

Up front is a 6.7-inch Fluid AMOLED panel with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and LTPO 2.0 colour calibration for accuracy. It is worth noting that the display can achieve a peak brightness of 1300nits, perfect for any lighting environment.
In the optics department, OnePlus gets a boost from Hasselblad with 2nd generation Hasselblad Camera for Mobile. You get a triple main shooter; 48MP main with OIS, 8MP telephoto with OIS and 50MP UltraWide with 150° FOV. Around the front, you get a single 32MP shooter in a pinhole. Finally, to keep up with your demanding and hectic life, it supports 80W SUPERVOOC fast wired charging and 50W AIRVOOC fast wireless charging. A quick 15 minutes charge can yield up to a day’s battery life.

Powered by Google Tensor, Google’s own home-grown chip, the Google Pixel 6 Pro also has a 6.7-inch OLED display with smooth adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz. It also packs a high QHD+ resolution like the OnePlus and Samsung flagships. Google has also made a strategic move, carrying on from previous generation, to house the rear cameras in a horizontal black band instead of in a cluster on the top left corner.
Here, you will find a 50MP Wide camera, 12MP UltraWide camera and a 48MP telephoto camera with 4x optical zoom and Super Res Zoom up to 20x. As for the front, it has an 11.1MP UltraWide camera. However, the biggest feature on the Pixel 6 Pro camera is the camera software’s ability to obliterate subjects or objects in the background with clever AI. Simply called the Magic Eraser. You can scrub off what you don’t want in a photo.

Like OnePlus, Oppo is the subsidiary of BBK Electronics. BBK Electronics also owns other brands like Vivo, Realme and iQOO so you know you are in good hands. The other landmark partnership is the main camera on their flagship, the Oppo Find X5 Pro. This is again co-developed with the guys at Hasselblad. The huge 6.7-inch display is an AMOLED panel with LTPO and adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Plus, it is capable of 1300 nits brightness. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus gives the screen that extra protection. Judging from the specs, this panel is the same as the one on OnePlus 10 Pro.
But, the rear main camera setup is actually higher than the OnePlus 10 Pro starting with the 50MP Main camera with OIS, 50MP UltraWide camera that also supports 4cm Macro shooting and 13MP telephoto camera. The front selfie camera is a 32MP Wide camera. Together, image and video capture looks great with MariSilicon X Imaging NPU for AI enhancements. However, it still comes in short achieving 122 score on DXOMark while OnePlus 10 Pro manages 127. Other features it shares with OnePlus are the 80W SUPERVOOC wired fast charging and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging.
6. Xiaomi 12 Pro 6.73-inch SD8G1

The Xiaomi 12 Pro’s display also supports HDR 10+, Dolby Vision and DisplayMate A+ with LTPO technology. But what is a flagship if not for its pro-grade cameras capable of 8K video recording? Here, you will find three 50MP main shooter; a huge 50MP Wide main camera with large Super Pixel sensor, 50MP UltraWide and 50MP telephoto. The cameras are also capable photos even in the lowest lighting condition, as low as 0.02 lux thanks to HDR and highlight control.
Xiaomi has a few more surprises up its sleeves. They include the quad firing speakers with dual tweeters and dual woofers tuned by Harman Kardon with Dolby Atmos support. There is also the Smart 120W Xiaomi HyperCharge with dual mode charging. Boost mode takes it up to 100% in 18 minutes while standard mode, in 24 minutes. So the display isn’t quite QHD or QHD+ like some of the other flagships here, but neither is the panel on iPhone 13 Pro Max. The little sibling of the Galaxy S22+ has a slightly smaller 6.6-inch FullHD+ panel minus the fancy curved edges. Still, it has the same Dynamic AMOLED 2X with Vision Booster the S22 Ultra enjoys with 1750nits and adaptive 120Hz refresh rate.
However, instead of 4 camera setup for the primary shooter, there are three; 12MP UltraWide, 50MP Wide and 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. But make no mistake, these are still pro-grade cameras. The front facing selfie camera also sees a downgrade from 40MP to 10MP. Finally, the chassis is IP68 rated, but the phone is not compatible with the S Pen.

The 2020 edition of the Motorola Edge+, as its name suggest tries takes on a bezel less phone design with rolled long edges and almost zero top and bottom bezels. The new 2022 model however, dropped the curved edges in favour of a flat display. It has a 6.7-inch OLED display at Full HD+ (2340 x 1080p) resolution with rounded corners. Unfortunately, while the glass covers most of the front of the phone, there is still a visible black border near the frame. The main camera is not that amazing either lacking any optical zoom with 50MP Wide camera, 50MP UltraWide and 2MP depth sensor. While the phone supports 68W fast wired charging, reaching 50% with a quick 15 minutes charge, it only supports standard 15W wireless charging with 5W reverse wireless charging.

The Realme GT2 Pro has a 2K resolution OLED display measuring 6.7-inch. The company claims that it has the first 2K Flat panel with LTPO 2.0 technology, but many of the panels here come with the same resolution if not close. The panel is also bright with a peak brightness of 1400nits and colourful with 100% DCI-P3 wide coverage.
Around the back, the dual camera setup is nothing to shout home about. Based on a pair of 50MP sensors, a Wide camera and an 150° UltraWide angle camera plus a third micro lens camera with 40x magnification. For selfies, it uses a 32MP front facing camera. Like the Motorola Edge+ it loses out on telephoto shooting but makes up for it with a quirky magnifying lens.
Some thoughtful designs include an environment friendly biopolymer backplate that keeps the phone super thin at 8.18mm and ultra light at 189grams. It also features a huge 5000mAh battery with 65W fast charging support, stainless steel vapour cooling system and antenna arrangement for best connectivity both wireless and cellular.
